Duncan Seton has been working with and teaching children the fundamentals of illustration and mixed media for over 15 years.
Seton’s workshops and experience in the class room environment have helped many children channel their natural expressions into the visual arts. He has been inspired by the results.
"Talent is not required to draw,” says Seton. “With some basic principles and practice anyone can develop the skills to express their unique personalities through art. Time after time I have been astounded by the quality of work from students that didn’t think they were creative."
Duncan's workshops offer the student a different perspective on drawing focusing on drawing as a learned skill and not necessarily a talent. "Everyone can learn to draw, not matter of the age. All too often drawing is looked at as a talent instead of a learned skill. There are a lot of people that learn to play many songs on musical instruments for their own enjoyment and don't consider themselves talented."
Duncan Seton’s artwork has been published in numerous media streams including cartoon strips, company logos, and on t-shirts.
Watch for his work in the soon-to-be-released The Eye of the Storm and The King's Artist!
